Pongaroa Hiwinui Romneys shift from their home base. After breeding for 53 years at Hiwinui the Stewart family are shifting their Romney ram breeding operation to the hills of Pongaroa. With most New Zealand sheep now farmed on hill country it is a reality that rams should also be sourced from similar country. From 2007 the Hiwinui flock at Pongroa will be under the management of Forbes Minto. Forbes has a lifetime of being involved in the sheep industry ,working up from shepherding positions in New Zealand and Austrialia to a Landcorp manager into owning his own properties. Dave and Tim Stewart will be still very involved with the Hiwinui flock at Pongaroa , with Tim being in charge of all the genetic recording. The Hiwinui flock will remain a part of the TRIGG sire reference-progeny testing group. From 2007 all Romney ram selling will take place from Pongaroa. Contact Numbers.
