We’re thrilled to invite you back for our 2026 season for a breathtaking experience that captures the magic of summer. Located just 10 minutes from Palmerston North and Feilding, Hiwinui Sunflower Field is a rare and unforgettable destination that is open for a limited time each year.
Opening Dates & Season Information
WE HAVE NOW CLOSED FOR THE SEASON
Our official opening begins Saturday 24 & 25th of January.
We will also be holding a pre-opening for Wellington Anniversary and on select days ahead of our official season launch.
Please note the field will be closed on Wednesday 21st and Friday 23rd January.
As bloom times and opening days are weather dependent, we recommend checking our social media for the most up to date information before visiting.

Yoga in the Sunflowers
Thursday 22nd January
Immerse yourself in nature with a guided yoga session surrounded by sunflowers. This peaceful experience combines movement, mindfulness and fresh country air, making it the perfect reset for body and mind. Suitable for all levels, Sunflower Yoga is a limited-capacity event and always highly sought after. Includes dinner after the mindfulness and yoga session

Rodeo Night
Friday 30th Janurary
5:30 - 8:30pm
Grab your cowboy boots and hats for our one night only country western inspired Rodeo Night. Set among the sunflowers as the sun dips below the horizon, this high-energy evening promises:
- A mechanical bull
- Country western vibes
- Live Music
- Food Trucks
- Stunning sunset photo opportunities
- A relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere
Admission: $20 per person
Children under 10 are free (under 10s are unable to ride the bull due to health and safety requirements).
